NetEnt: Games, Features & Research Notes
Last verified: 2026-10-03 · Editor: SweepsDuke
NetEnt started in Stockholm in 1996. The games people still open first are Starburst, Gonzo's Quest, Dead or Alive 2, Divine Fortune, and Blood Suckers. Evolution acquired the studio in 2020. One public company note puts that deal at $2.1 billion. We treat the year as settled and the dollar figure as a published number, not a sum we audited.
A US player does not need a NetEnt account. The slot sits inside a sweepstakes casino that has licensed the game for that state. Gold Coins are the practice balance. Sweeps Coins are the prize balance. Redemption still follows that casino's floor, playthrough, and KYC rules. A 5,000x line on Starburst does not raise the redemption floor, and it does not lower it.
Catalog size is messy on purpose in the public notes. One directory says 300+ games. A sweeps catalog writeup says over 200 titles, with slots past 200, a handful of RNG blackjack and roulette games, one baccarat, and 15+ jackpot slots. Lobby snapshots on file are much smaller than either number. The biggest NetEnt count we have for a single sweeps site is 39. A "has NetEnt" badge can mean two tiles.
Quick facts
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Studio | NetEnt (Net Entertainment) |
| Founded | 1996 |
| Headquarters on file | Stockholm, Sweden. A later company block also lists St. Julian's, Malta |
| Parent | Evolution, acquisition dated 2020 |
| Licenses named | UK Gambling Commission accounts for NetEnt AB, NetEnt Alderney, NetEnt Gibraltar, and NetEnt Malta. Malta Gaming Authority B2B licence MGA/B2B/109/2004, issued 1 August 2018. Gibraltar also appears on a shorter license list |
| Testing named | eCOGRA, GLI-19, ISO 27001 |
| Game types | Slots, including progressives, fixed jackpots, and Megaways. RNG blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. One note also lists live casino. We have not confirmed a NetEnt live table inside a sweeps lobby |
| Catalog figures | 200+ and 300+, depending on the directory. Treat both as ranges |
| Published RTP band | 95% to 98% on one overview. Individual titles below sit inside and, for Mega Joker, above that band |
| Volatility label on file | Low to medium as a studio habit, with clear high-volatility exceptions |
| Deepest lobby on file | Stake.us, 39 NetEnt games |
| Games we open first | Starburst, Gonzo's Quest, Divine Fortune, Mega Joker, Dead or Alive |
Where the deep lobbies are
These counts are on file from lobby snapshots. The writeups carrying them were marked last updated 4 June 2026, with ranking headers that say October 2026. We have not re-counted the live filters this week. If the filter disagrees, trust the filter.
| Casino | NetEnt games on file |
|---|---|
| Stake.us | 39 |
| RealPrize | 37 |
| Wandando | 35 |
| WOW Vegas | 33 |
| BigPirate | 26 |
| Chumba | 21 |
| Jackpota | 2 |
Stake.us is the widest of this set, and 39 is still a slice of a 200-title catalog. RealPrize, Wandando, and WOW Vegas sit in the low 30s. BigPirate at 26 and Chumba at 21 are real shelves, not samples of one or two hits. Jackpota at 2 is the number to distrust as a "NetEnt casino." Two tiles can be Starburst and one neighbor. That is not a catalog.
If a brand you like is missing from the table, we do not have a NetEnt count for it. Open the provider filter, or search Starburst and read the studio name on the load screen. A jewel slot from another studio is a different model.
Welcome packages move faster than lobby depth. We do not pin a signup chip to this guide. Check the live store, then confirm the NetEnt filter still shows the game you came for before you buy Gold Coins to reach it.
State blocks belong to the casino, not the studio. A 39-game count does nothing if your state is on that site's excluded list. Age rules, playthrough, and the redemption floor live in the same terms.
Games we open first
These five are the ones the public notes actually price. Each note is how we would use the game. The math is the published math, left intact.
Starburst
Starburst is the low-volatility opener. RTP on file is 96.09%. The grid is five reels and ten paylines, and those lines pay both ways. Expanding wilds are the feature. One writeup puts the max win at 5,000x for a single spin. The art is jewels in space, with BAR and 7 symbols as the Vegas nod.
We open it when someone wants to learn the lobby's NetEnt client without a long dry spell. Low volatility is the reason the game stayed popular, and it is also the reason the ceiling is not the point. On Gold Coins, watch how the expanding wild lands and whether both-ways pays are obvious on the win line. On Sweeps Coins, a small stake and a longer session matches the math. Do not move a redemption-sized balance onto Starburst expecting a 5,000x shot to fund the gift card. The cap is real. The hit rate of that cap is not a session plan.
Before we call 96.09% "the" RTP, we open the paytable in that lobby. Studios ship more than one RTP build. If the screen says something else, the screen is the one that pays.
Gonzo's Quest
Gonzo's Quest is the avalanche lesson. RTP on file is 95.97%, with mid to high volatility. Wins tumble, multipliers step up, and free spins are the feature people remember. It is older than the Megaways clones that borrowed the idea of a cascading grid.
We use it as the second game, after Starburst, when a player wants the feature to matter. The RTP gap versus Starburst is small on paper (95.97% versus 96.09%) and the session feel is not. Mid/high volatility means quiet stretches. Size the Sweeps Coins stake so a dry run does not eat the balance you meant to redeem. Learn the avalanche counter on Gold Coins first. Count how the multiplier climbs before you care about the free spins round.
Divine Fortune
Divine Fortune is the progressive we can actually name with a number. RTP on file is 96.59%, medium volatility. Falling wilds, a wild-on-wild beat, free spins, and a mega jackpot are the pieces. A related sheet, Divine Fortune Black, is listed separately at 96.08% with high volatility and fixed Minor, Major, and Mega pots.
Two games, two math models. If the tile says Black, do not assume the 96.59% figure came with it. Open the rules. Progressive pots on a sweepstakes site are the next check. A real-money progressive and a sweeps build of the same name are not automatically the same prize pool. We do not have a table of which sweeps sites pool Divine Fortune, so we will not invent one. Read the jackpot rules in that game before you chase the mega label with Sweeps Coins.
Mega Joker
Mega Joker is the RTP outlier. It is listed at 99%, high volatility, with a progressive and a Supermeter mode, in a retro frame. 99% is outside the 95% to 98% studio band quoted elsewhere. That does not make the figure fake. It makes it a title you verify on the glass.
We open Mega Joker when the question is "where is the high published return in this catalog?" We do not open it as a calm session. High volatility plus a supermeter is a different product from Starburst. On Gold Coins, learn what the supermeter takes from the win and what it can return. On Sweeps Coins, keep the stake small until that loop is obvious. A 99% long-run note does not pay the next ten spins, and it says nothing about the casino's redemption minimum.
Dead or Alive
Dead or Alive is the high-volatility western. RTP on file for the original is 96.82%. Sticky wilds and free spins with multipliers are the tools. Dead or Alive 2 is the name that shows up on popularity lists beside it. We do not have a separate RTP for the sequel in these notes, so we will not borrow 96.82% and paste it onto the 2.
If you want the sticky-wild free spins round, search the exact title and read that paytable. High volatility is the whole product: long gaps, then a round that can matter. That is a Gold Coins lesson first. Move Sweeps Coins over only after you have seen a dead stretch and still like the game.
What else is priced in the catalog
A few more titles have numbers we can repeat without guessing.
Guns N' Roses is listed at 96.98%, low to mid volatility, with stacked wilds, respins, and random multipliers. Coins of Egypt is 96.97%, low volatility. Dazzle Me is 96.9%, low, with diamond wild reels. Fruit Spin is 96.84%, low to mid. Those four are the high-RTP cluster under Mega Joker. Blood Suckers is the other famous high-return name: one overview states 98%. We do not have a volatility line next to that 98% in the same note, so we will not invent one. Check the paytable.
Jackpot sheets we can name: Vegas Night Life, progressive, about 96%, low volatility. Trollpot 5000, fixed, 96.19%, high. Mega Fortune Dreams, progressive, 95.9%, medium. Arabian Nights, progressive, 95.62%, low to mid. Twin Spin sits with the popular set at 96.55%, mid to high, built on synchronized twin reels.
Mega Fortune itself is named as a jackpot slot alongside Hall of Gods, Arabian Nights, and Mega Fortune Dreams. We do not have a fresh RTP for the original Mega Fortune in this set of notes. If the tile is the old progressive, read the rules for whether the sweeps build still carries a pooled pot or a fixed stand-in.
Table games exist in the catalog count: Baccarat Pro, a few blackjack titles (one note says a mobile-only single deck), and roulette in European, French, and American versions. Some of those are marked as both RNG and live. In a sweeps lobby we would still look for the word "live" on the tile before we promise a dealer. If the filter is slots-only, the tables were not part of the deal that site signed.
How a Sweeps Coins session should use this math
Start on Gold Coins even if the casino handed you Sweeps Coins at signup. The GC balance answers dull questions: which RTP is printed, whether the jackpot is progressive or a picture of one, whether lines pay both ways, and whether the stake controls sit where a thumb can bump them. Ten minutes of that is cheaper than learning it on the balance you plan to redeem.
Move to Sweeps Coins with a stake you already survived on GC. Starburst can take a longer session at a small stake because the volatility is low and the cap is 5,000x, not a five-figure headline. Gonzo's Quest and Dead or Alive need a smaller stake or a shorter session. The gaps are part of the design. Mega Joker is a verification spin plus a small-stake session, not a place to park a balance that is one redemption away from a gift card.
Several sweeps sites cap what a spin can return even when the studio sheet goes higher. This guide does not list those caps. Read them in the casino terms. A studio max win and a site rule that stops a prize earlier are both real, and only the site rule governs the redemption.
Provider filters are uneven. If the filter is missing, search Starburst or Gonzo's Quest and confirm NetEnt on the load screen. Then read that game's rules for RTP and max win. Our figures are the published ones. Your lobby's build is the one that pays.
Licenses and fairness
The licenses we can name are UK Gambling Commission account numbers for four NetEnt entities, the Malta B2B licence above, and a Gibraltar listing on the shorter license list. That is a business-to-business supply story. It is not a US player license, and it does not make a sweepstakes casino legal in a state that site has blocked.
Testing names on file are eCOGRA, GLI-19, and ISO 27001. ISO 27001 is an information-security certificate. It is not an RTP promise. eCOGRA and GLI are the names to associate with game testing, and we still want the RTP on the paytable in front of us.
The RTP figures in this guide are the ones published for the titles: the 95% to 98% band, Starburst at 96.09%, Gonzo's Quest at 95.97%, Divine Fortune at 96.59%, Dead or Alive at 96.82%, Mega Joker at 99%, Blood Suckers at 98%, and the other titled figures above. If a paytable disagrees, trust the paytable for that session.
Sweepstakes play still has to offer a no-purchase path. Buying Gold Coins is optional. Responsible gaming tools, if the casino has them, live in the account menu, not inside the slot. A fair slot math model does not replace a self-limit, a cool-off, or a decision to stop when the SC balance hits the gift-card floor you actually wanted.
Who should play NetEnt, and who should skip
Play NetEnt if you want a known slot client, a low-volatility opener, and a couple of progressives you can identify by name. Starburst is the first tile when you are learning the lobby. Mega Joker is the one when you want the 99% line and you will read the supermeter before you raise the stake. Gonzo's Quest is the one when cascades are the point and you can sit through a quiet stretch. Stake.us, then RealPrize, are the lobbies on file when the goal is simply to see more than a handful of tiles. Players who already know both-ways pays and falling wilds will feel at home in one session.
Skip NetEnt if you want the deepest possible catalog of one studio. Thirty-nine games is the widest sweeps count we have, against a catalog that directories put at 200 or 300. Skip Jackpota if the only reason to join was NetEnt, unless the live filter has grown past two tiles. Skip Divine Fortune on Sweeps Coins if you have not checked whether the jackpot on that site is a real pool. Skip the studio for the session if your state is blocked at the casino you were going to use. The slot will still be there on a site that is open to you.
NetEnt Provider FAQ
Is NetEnt part of Evolution?
Yes. Evolution acquired NetEnt in 2020. The games still carry the NetEnt name in lobbies. A joint awards note with Red Tiger shows up for 2021, which fits the same group. Red Tiger is a sister brand in that group, not the same game list.
Which site has the most NetEnt games?
On the snapshots we have, Stake.us at 39, then RealPrize at 37, Wandando at 35, and WOW Vegas at 33. Chumba is 21. Jackpota is 2. Counts move. Filter the live lobby before you treat a number as current.
What is the highest RTP we can cite?
Mega Joker at 99%, then Blood Suckers at 98%, then Guns N' Roses at 96.98% and Coins of Egypt at 96.97%. Confirm the figure on the glass. More than one RTP build exists for many of these games.
Does Starburst have a huge max win?
The figure on file is 5,000x, on ten paylines that pay both ways, at low volatility and 96.09% RTP. That is a modest cap next to studios that print 20,000x. It is also why the game is a sane first Sweeps Coins session.
Are there NetEnt table games in sweeps lobbies?
The catalog includes RNG baccarat, blackjack, and roulette, and some notes say live as well as RNG. The sweeps counts we have are small enough that a site can carry slots only. Check the filter. Do not assume a live dealer shipped with Starburst.
Can I play these at a real-money US casino?
Some NetEnt titles are in regulated US real-money markets. That is a different product from Sweeps Coins. This guide is about the sweeps build: Gold Coins to practice, Sweeps Coins if you want a prize path, redemption under the casino's rules.
